RULER WORK - MACHINE QUILTING THE EASY WAY

I am very excited to offer a new series of classes that I believe will make your Quilting experience so much better - easier to do, with great results.  Although students do move in a free-motion manner, the rulers make all the difference in mobility and accuracy. My desire is to equip you with many designs so that when  instructions tell you to "quilt as desired" you will have a library of wonderful designs to choose from.   I hope you will join me - it's going to be fun!

Have you tried free-motion quilting on your domestic sewing machine or table-top quilting machine, only to find you can’t move around as “free-motion” as you would wish?  Do you want to sew beautiful, simple designs without the expertise required for all-over free motion designs?  Then, these classes are for you!

WESTALEE RULER CLASS 1

"Westalee Ruler Class 1" is an introduction to Ruler Work.  I am teaching this series at Paramount Sewing in Eugene, Oregon.  You may obtain a supply list and pre-class instruction sheet when you sign up for classes.

For this beginning class you will need the ruler foot for your specific machine, plus the arc ruler that comes with it.  The foot and ruler will be for "Low" or "High" shank, depending on your machine (see picture of the ruler and foot). Note that there are some machines that may use a "medium" shank.  Ask Paramount to order the proper one for you.

This first class will make use of just this one ruler for the entire project, as we both design, and stitch, the small 22" wall quilt.

I look forward to seeing you in class!

Glenda

Westalee Ruler Class 2 - Building a Quilting Library

Picture
This class will help you develop a Quilting Library of block designs using the basic Westalee Arc Ruler to stitch sample blocks.  In class, students will stitch out 12 block designs, plus receive printouts of 50+ more designs to continue building their Quilting Block Library.

NOTE: This class cannot be done with any other foot and ruler - only the Westalee.  See Paramount to order one for your machine.

Westalee Ruler Class 3 - Blocks 'n' Borders

Students who continue my classes, will be introduced to additional rulers, beginning with Template Sampler Set 1 (see picture below) - in Low or High shank. In class 3, we will explore the use of these rulers, then move on to develop more patterns for our Quilting Design Libraries. Students will make 10 new blocks, plus a border sampler.
